I was familiar with this brand through the use of their boots while in the military. I have a hard time finding a running shoe that is comfortable and offers the support I need. I was a little apprehensive regarding the purchase of this shoe, as I did not know anything regarding their running shoes. However, I reverted to the memory of their very comfortable and durable boots. I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. These are probably the best running shoe I have ever purchased and rival that of companies like Asic. These shoes have replaced my New Balance Running Shoes and I look to purchase more from Hi-Tec in the future.

Hi-Tec is not a famous name in shoes, but I have found these shoes (I have 3 pairs now) to be very comfortable, light in weight, and they wear very well; the oldest I have is about 3 years old and has no visible wear. Selected styles and sizes are often on sale for about $25 to $35; seems like a good bargain to me.

So I purchased a pair and find them quite nice for the use intended EXCEPT that the laces are way, way too long. After tying them, there is another foot of lace remaining - and I've been lacing up running shoes for years.I contacted Hi-Tec but told they could not do anything - some b.s. about where I purchased them. I told them this is a safety issue, and that I'll hold them accountable for any problems. Although the cost of new laces is trivial, I was quite surprised about the customer service from them. Won't purchase their products ever again...
