This is a great example of a lightweight cushioned trainer for the efficient runner with a neutral gait. The forefoot is roomy, but I was able to snug the heel up with "heel lock" lacing as shown on the New Balance web site. The outsole and midsole feel great on sidewalk, grass and cobblestones. It's super flexible, and the heel cup is softer than some, so this shoe feels a little like the Nike Free, but more substantial. There's not much motion control, so if you under or over pronate this is not the shoe for you. The arch was not quite high enough for me, but the addition of a small inexpensive arch cookie made these fit my foot perfectly. I highly recommend these, and I expect to buy at least one more pair,

I have widish feet and have a slight outstep, and these are perfect for when i run, no discomfort and light, i wish they kept making them.
