I run for a living and these shoes are awesome!

I'm not a professional athlete, I work for an international shipping company in a major metropolitan city. We were required to wear black work boots in my job and for years I had sore feet, sore knees and back problems. Now we can wear any black shoe so I purchased these running shoes.I can't compare them to other running shoes but these are great for running up and down flights of stairs with packages. They are very comfortable, supportive, and breathe well in the sweltering July heat. They also are comfortable on the cement factory floor. I highly recommend these shoes for anyone working on their feet.I bought them form amazon for $35, shipping included!They aren't the best looking shoe but who cares when they feel this good on your feet, and are going to get scuffed to hell at work.

My daughter bought me Adidas Duramo 2 running shoes for Father's Day (Red/Silver/White, size 11). These running shoes are fantastic!LightweightFit greatFeel greatTrue to sizeNice shock absorption soleThe outside heel section has a little more beef to it, to prevent any pronation (your ankles rolling toward the inside) when you run. The toe section of the shoe is great because feels like a professional track shoe - it naturally rolls you onto your toes, without any effort from you.In a nutshell: These are fantastic running shoes for the money! If you only jog 2 miles, then you can easily kick it up a notch and run 4 miles with these shoes!

Very confortable...

I buy this shoes, because i'm a member of a carnival parade group and we have to walk a every sunday of february with a costume and a mask that weight about 10 pound, plus we were always jumpimg, running and dancing with all that and with this shoes i had a lot of support and cushion, they did not boder me or make my foot ake (i play tennis and some tennis shoes do make my foot hurts) so i just love this shoes and now that the carnival is over i will use them in the gym.This shoes are true to fit, very confortable and nice cushion and support. They're not the prettiest runnin shoes, but for the price and what they do, they have no match. Plus if you don't want any flashy shoes this are the one for you.... oh and they're grate for walking to.

Too different from the 11's

I wear and really like the Alchemy 11's so I decided to order the 12's as a second pair. The 12's are nothing like the 11's in that they run smaller in the length and width, and do not have the same cushioning. I assume a larger size may have fixed the sizing differences however the 'hardness' of the soles were the deal breaker. They were returned.

This shoe has held up great!

I'm writing this review after running in the Mizuno Alchemy 12 shoe for 370 miles. I was fitted for this shoe in a running store and paid the full list price for them. I've had no experience with the previous Alchemy versions or the Mizuno brand before this purchase. I'm right under 6' and weight right at 200. The last few years I had been running in a heavy pair of 1201 NB. My running distance has increased 2 to 3 times what I had been running and I needed a shoe that was light but still provided support. I'm running 30-35 miles a week. I run three times a week; a 6 mile, 8 mile and then one long run between 16 to 23 miles. During the course of every week I run on a number of different types of surfaces. My 6 mile runs are all sidewalks and asphalt. My 8 mile runs are 1/2 off road, crossing several creeks, lots of mud but no single trail. My shoes are filthy with sand and mud after this run so I throw them in a cold wash with my running clothes and then air dry. My long runs include a lot of hills and are usually entirely off road with a third of the distance on single track trails. One thing I can't do in these shoes is run without socks. There is a inseam right where the arch of my foot is. The inseam is not coarse or stiff and I can't figure out why it bothers me but I always get a blister from it. For me these shoes have held up great. They are not "trail" shoes but at least 1/2 my time is spent off-road and have done just fine. I have raced three times in them a 10K road race as well as two trail races of 10 and 16 miles. I was very happy with them in all races. I expect that they will still be holding up great in a few weeks when I use them for a 27 mile trail race.Even with all the washing these shoes have held up remarkably well. No tears, rips, fading on the outside including the shoe strings. The inside and insoles are holding up great. For all the different types of terrain the tread has held up great. I suspect that spending over 1/2 my time off-road has been easier on the soles. The shoes are doing so well that I plan on pushing them to the 500 mile mark before replacing them. At 200 pounds I'm considered a heavy runner and I it's great to get 500 miles out of a pair of shoes.Thanks to the previous reviewers. I was looking at purchasing a previous version of this same shoe because it was so much cheaper. However, realizing that this model is so much different than the previous versions I decided to stick with this version of this shoe as it is working for me.

Disappointing revision

I have worn Mizuno Alchemy's for several years. Models 10 and 11 didn't change the basic fit at all. Alchemy 12 has altered the shoe to the point that it is not wearable for me.They change the lace up and made it much narrower, which has the effect of tighten from the top down, rather than pulling the sides in. I have a high arch and this change in pressure pointsmakes my foot numb. I could not stand to have them on my feet for more than 2 hours. I regularly buy the 2E width so there is no helping the situation by buying a wider shoe.I returned them and I can only hope they change the fit back to the older version

Great for cross-country

I do some off road running and these are pretty decent shoes for that. I don't recommend using them for lots of road/sidwalks, as the hard soles and rubber cleats tend to get uncomfortable after awhile.
