Good for turf, okay for treadmills, not good for hardwood floors, linoleum, and tile.

These are great for when running in grass, the street, or on a sidewalk. Treadmills, I Wouldn't recommend but it is doable just be careful. It's due to the slippery bottoms and the five circles that extend through the bottom sole (where the spikes go and these shoes do come with spikes and a tool to put them in the shoes.) I don't use them, so this is just about the shoe itself. Walking on any floor that's very smooth is difficult, you have to be very careful, your feet slip every step. Good shoe overall, just know what you're getting yourself into before you buy it. It fits very tightly but gets looser as you wear them out.

I love how the shoe kinda has that snug, light fit so that it feels like your running bare feet almost. The only thing is you have to buy the bottom spikes. Love it, I highly recommend this product

Poor Quality

I purchased these shoes for four reasons. 1. I have had great luck with New Balance shoes. 2. I loved the blue and grey color. 3. They were lightweight. 4. They were very comfortable. Within two weeks, I noticed the right shoe had a squeak which got progressively worse. A few days later, I noticed the sole was coming off. A day later, I noticed the sole was coming off the left shoe. I have never had shoes of any brand fall apart like these. I can still wear them, but I have to be very careful when taking them off so I don't pull the soles the rest of the way off. Is this the type of quality New Balance has now? I sure hope not because I have been more than pleased with the quality vs. dollar value of my past NB purchases.EDIT: I contacted New Balance a few months back about these shoes. They told me to send them in and they would replace them. Their customer service was great. They let me choose another pair of similar cost. I ended up with their 770 V2 which has been a fine pair of shoes for a couple months. I wear them almost every day and have noticed no wear. Every company will have a dud every once in a while. My bad experience with this shoe has ended up being a good experience. New Balance is still at the top of my list of shoes to purchase.

Poor quality - Sole came off on 2 pairs

These shoes are not up to New Balance normal standards. On my last pair the sole cam unglued from the boot part after 6 months or so. I figured any company can have a clunker so I ordered another pair.After wearing them less than a month, and only indoors and to and from work, the same delamination happened on the second pair. I am working with NB to replace them with a different model now.Check out the NB web site. They are discontinued. Now you know why.It's a real shame, the shoes were LIGHT and comfortable.

best running shoes ever

I used to run 20 miles a week but then I hurt my left knee. I tried all other running shoes including adidas, reebok, nike and asics while still hurting my knees. I could barely run 10 miles if not walking. Then I met these shoes. I never feel any pain on my knee again and I'm back running. Thanks New Balance!

New balance is my go to sneaker...

I have converted from Nike to New Balance and have never been more satisfied. I now own 4 pairs, 3 of them I purchased at Amazon for amazing prices. I would have given this a 5 star except, these are unisex sneakers and the fit is not as perfect as the women sneaker fit. It took a short time to adjust to it but then they became perfect. Will buy NB again and at Amazon for sure.

Montrail Enduro-sole

I've been using these for at least 3 years in most of my hiking and running shoes. I have very narrow, high arched feet and have plantar fasciitis. Most shoes dont have near the arch support I need and this insole makes otherwise unsupportive shoes comfortable. For me, the insoles seem to work best in shoes with some degree of cushioning. In shoes that are firmer the insoles dont seem to be quite as comfortable, possible due to the hard plastic base of the Enduro-sole.(and my sensitive feet) The insoles are thermo-moldable, meaning you put them in the oven (200 deg.?)for a few minutes per the instructions, then immediately put them in the intended shoes and stand in them for a couple minutes while they conform to your feet. This insole is also available in a low profile(thinner)version for lower volume shoes.(or higher volume feet) None of Montrail's shoe lineup fits my narrow foot but these insoles are great. I've tried many aftermarket insoles over the years, including other thermo-moldable brands and even custom orthotics, which turned out to be the worst experience of all. The only minor flaw I find with the design of the product is that over time, when used in a highly cushioned running shoe the hard plastic in the heel tends to sink into the softer cushiony foam of the shoe. This results in the arch support actually feeling higher and more noticeable where the arch meets the heel. If the company can figure out a solution to this issue it would, for me be a perfect product. For me this doesnt become a problem for several months to a year and by then the shoes cushioning is starting to break down anyway. The Enduro-sole probably isn't for everyone but I hope they don't discontinue this product.

these are typical New Balance shoes. great workmanship. fit was perfect. i wore them 3 times before i went to Disney World. walked all over Disney for 2 days and they felt wonderful. the color was spot on as described and shown. light, airy, and very supportive. a great product.

Bad feet

I have bad feet and feet that are about 3/4 different in size from the other one. I find the shoe to be very supportive and comfortable for my feet. I have tried different shoes over the years but keep coming back to new balance as they seem the best for my feet. I tried a brooks last time on the recommendation of an orthopedic store but I didn't think it help up nearly as good as the new balance.

Happy So Far

It's been ten years since I ran consistently. As a guy trying to start back up after several aborted attempts over the last few years, I didn't want to spend too much money. I was very pleased to get this pair for only $29. I took them out this morning on a ten minute run, and am quite happy thus far. They are incredibly light with good stability. I did not notice any uncomfortable pinches or rubs. Though I normally wear an 11, I bought a 12 just to be on the safe side, which seems to have been a good decision. I've bought shoes that were over $100 and so far I'm just as happy with this pair. I will update this review if anything should change. (Wish me luck!)~Scott William Foley, author of Andropia
